What I do
In the Graphic and Wed Design program we have learned how to style and create the basics for web sites, we have learned how to properly photosop our images. We were taught how to properly place our information and images on a poster. How to effectively work with typefaces and the different font styles. Throughout the rest of this program we will continue to learn how to better our work and how to properly photograph and edit, we will also learn how to brand our products correctly.
Web Design
When I first started in this program and had my first web design class, I thought that I would never understand the language, and my work would look horrible. I'm happy to announce that I have enjoyed this course quite a bit and hopefully my websites don't look horrible. Out of what we have done so far I would have to say that my favourite project has been the surrealism project part 2. For this project we had to choose and art movement and create a wesite on that subject. It was a lot of research and work but I really enjoyed the process and we got to work more closely with colums and on my website I had made a gallery page which I found to be really fun.
Graphic Design
Graphic Design was probably one of my favourite classes first semester, I really enjoyed learning the C.R.A.P notion and how to create a poster that is pleasing to the eye. I have a favourite piece of work from both semesters of Graphic Design. My favourite project from the first semester was the decade project, I really enjoyed this project because we weren't allowed to use any photographs, we were only allowed to use typefaces. We were given a decade to work with and then choose a specific event that happened in that period and base our poster off of that, I got the 1920's and I chose the Great Depression as my topic.
Photoshop
I have a love hate relationship with Photoshop. I really enjoy all the things that can be fixed and created with the application, but I have a large imagination and sometimes what I invision for my project isn't possible with photoshop, or is extremely hard to create so therefore I get frustrated. When I did my awareness project in photoshop last semster I had one of these moments. My work still looked great but I couldn't achieve the look I wanted to the extent that I had thought of, none the less I still think that it is one of my best photoshop projects.
Illustration
I have quite a bit of fun with illustrater and I find it fascinating that you could do so much with the application. Without a doubt my favourite project for that class was when we had to make a 3D character and place them into a perspective room. This project took me so long to do because I had to draw my character which took me about 5 hours, and then I had to scan it onto the computer and trace it with the pen tool. My favourite part of the whole project was figuring out how to create the texture in the clothing, like in the rips on the jeans, which took a lot of time to figure out but once I got it, my character looked amazing and that satisfaction was worth all the frustration and time.
