Hi, I'm Katrina Hall and I'm a junior graphic and web designer. I studied graphic and web design at John Abbott College and also have a diploma in Creative Arts, Language and Literature. I’ve always loved art and it never mattered in what form. It took me a little while to decide what I wanted to do because there was always something else I enjoyed. When I chose Graphic and Web Design I wasn’t sure if it was the program for me. Within the first month of the program I loved it and everything it was teaching me. There is something about opening your mind to an idea and being able to create what you visualize in your mind that is amazing. I know I made the right decision choosing this as a career because I enjoy it so much.
I enjoy projects that challenge me to think and to be more creative. I don’t mind spending hours working on something because I know that the end result will reflect the work I put in. When I work, I get into a zone and all my focus goes into what I am doing. I put my all into my work every single time because I am a perfectionist. I cannot expect a client to be happy with my work if I am not. When people see my work I want them to see the detail and the concept I was aiming for and know just by seeing it that I worked hard. I want people to admire my work and not categorize it with every other designers-I want to stand out.
My dream is to have my own design company. I’d like to offer something to clients that maybe they can’t get everywhere. I want clients to feel like my company is where you go for something entirely out of the box that is fun and freethinking. I want a client to know me and know my work and be happy and excited about that collaboration. But even if I don’t end up with my own company, I want to be successful. There’s nothing more disappointing than doing something you love and failing at it.
