I get inspired by the model. I had a list of ideas for photoshoots but only decided the details after the model was chosen. Erin gives that “greaser” vibe.

In collaboration with the model himself, we worked out the photoshoot to suit his style. Using the HDR function in photoshop, I evened out the highlights, midtones and shadows.

Using the pen tool in Illustrator, I traced the cartoon character Sterling Archer, from the show Archer.

Oval Cafe Logo

The intertwined handles represent the Oval Cafe’s friendly environment. The cups are two different colors to represent diversity whether it just be people from two different friend groups or social circles or bringing together different races, sexualities, etc. The Oval is an accepting environment. It looks sketched to represent that the Oval is affordable, and is student-based (as many students doodle in their notebooks). The colors are chosen to match the Oval’s interior design. All in all, the logo is made to show off the Oval’s inviting atmosphere.
