Creative Process

My creative process generally consists of the following steps:

1) Briefing (Overview of the client needs)

2) Requirement elicitation and specifications

3) Prepare requirement's package and comunication (client's needs translated into design requirements and acknowledgement)

4) Research (business needs, client's identity, market, audience, trends, competition, color, fonts, images, content, etc.)

5) Planning (time allocation of tasks and coordination)

6) Concept development (brainstorming, implementation proposal: sketches, mockups, wireframes, version control)

7) Design development phase (iterative process: presenting and sharpening the design)

8) Validation of design (verification that requirements are implemented, and perform corrections or adjustments if needed)

9) Release of the final product (approved and final work)

Agave Case Study

Logo for Agave Brand

During the Fall 2018 this was one of the projects I truly enjoyed. The requirement was to create a brand of my choice for a restaurant. I developed this brand for a Snack Bar that would offer mexican snacks and drinks. I had total freedom to create the design.

Sketches

A reasearch period continued by getting inspiring ideas and sketching. This phase involved and iterative process, starting with hand-drawn sketches and then digital sketches and also experimenting with type, to later obtain the final version.

Logo specifications

Once the logo had been finalized and approved, it was time to start the process of getting a color palette. This is the final logo and the color specifications.

Infographic

During this phase, I researched the feasibility of starting this sort of business in a specific area of the city. This information is captured in the infographic.

Business Card

Once the colors, the type, the logo, and the feasibility of the business had been approved it was time to start creating some brand elements. The business card is only one of the multiple applications of the logo to promote the brand.

Restaurant Menu

Another application of the logo to help enhance the brand is the Menu. Designing the menu for food and drinks was also a fun part of the project. Blending colors and incorporating fonts and textures bringing the brand to life.

Websites

Also, a part of the creative process is the design and implementation of a website to wrap up a brand. During this phase I implemented two versions of the website, one using WordPress and another designed from scratch using only HTML and CSS.
