My name is Kelsey and I'm a graphic designer based in Montreal. I specialize in printed media, photography, UI/UX, and illustration.
Growing up, I would constantly be observing a variety of designs that surrounded me. I would look at all colours, shapes, and typography used in the design and critique it. When my cousin came to visit, I watched her work on a project for stage and was fascinated by the different things she could do from her computer.
What made me interested in this field of study, is that it’s always new and different so you will never be bored with what you do. I believe that in order to be happy with what you do in life, you need to love what you’re doing. When I’m working on projects, I make sure that I design something I’m proud of and passionate about which is why I’m happy with this field of study. It allows me to be creative and change it up, so I’m never stuck doing the same thing over and over again.
My plan after graduating is to work straightaway in the industry. My goal is to work for a packaging company in the fashion and beauty industry. When I'm purchasing products, the packaging plays a huge role in what I buy. To have the opportunity to work for a company that designs packaging for products I like, I'd be over the moon!
Lastly, technology is always evolving which means in graphic and web design, there's always something new to learn! I love picking up new styles and techniques and applying them to projects.
